With the sixth-largest public school system in the country, Ohio serves over 1.8 million students in mostly rural and suburban school districts. Ohio has seen steady increases in student performance over the past 30-40 years; however, recent decreases in public school spending at the state level, a growing number of low-performing charter schools, and growing inequities in access to high performing schools may jeopardize this commitment to and record of success. Partners for has been working with advocates and policy-makers in the state in order to bridge gaps and build pragmatic consensus toward supporting Ohio schools and students.
